American History, Factual-style

Sean McDonald, a developer and co-founder of Jute Networks (a promising consulting company by the looks of it), attended our Factual Developer Night last month. And apparently he was inspired enough by what he saw to play around with some of our data. He recently posted these data visualizations on the Jute site, using U.S. Presidents data he found on Factual. The visualizations show the interconnectivity of U.S. presidents over time, specifically their connections to colleges/universities and branches of the military. Among other things, Sean was surprised to learn that nearly 1/4 of U.S. presidents didn’t finish college. Talk about a different way of presenting (and learning) American history!

Thanks, Sean! And to all you developers out there: keep those visualizations coming!
