Level 3 Increases it’s Presence in South Texas
() - Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: LVLT) has released information regarding it’s expansion of operations and local presence in South Texas, which includes the Houston and Austin metropolitan areas. This initiative reflects Level 3’s continuing pledge to enhance its presence in local markets throughout the country, designed to provide mid-market enterprises with a world-class customer experience.
In support of this local-expansion effort, Level 3 is growing and realigning its local workforce in South Texas to combine a local presence, first-hand marketplace knowledge and extensive expertise in the communications industry. Through a combination of its extensive backbone network, metro fiber-optic footprint, and a locally focused sales and customer support team, Level 3 provides greater opportunities for mid-market enterprises to take advantage of Level 3’s broad portfolio of communications services.
“As the fifth largest market in the United States, Houston is a very important part of our local strategy,” said Steve Reemts, Level 3’s general manager for South Texas. “Local marketplace knowledge coupled with industry expertise and an on-the-ground support team is a winning combination for a superior customer experience – a combination that fully supports our goal of being the number one competitive alternative to the incumbents here in South Texas.”
Level 3 has more than 750 miles of fiber in South Texas that passes nearly 2,000 mid-market businesses. The company will add capacity to the network and will expand the number of businesses that are directly connected to this network, giving mid-market enterprises access to the entire suite of Level 3 services and allowing them to quickly and easily increase their bandwidth as business needs grow.
The expansion of operations in South Texas marks the continuation of a locally focused strategy that Level 3 launched successfully in mid-2009. The company is pleased with the progress of the initiative to date as evidenced by increased sales from customers in the initial markets as well as higher reported overall customer satisfaction for mid-market enterprises.
